Angel Oak Animal Hospital is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Veterinary Assistant or Veterinary Technician to join our growing small animal practice in Johns Island, South Carolina. Recently voted Best of South Carolina, we pride ourselves on providing exceptional patient care in a supportive, team-oriented environment.

We are looking for an energetic, compassionate professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced practice and is committed to delivering outstanding care to both patients and clients.

Pay

$15.00 – $30.00 per hour (based on experience)

Schedule

• Monday through Friday
• No weekends
• No on-call responsibilities
• No boarding duties

Responsibilities

Veterinary team members play an active role in both patient care and client communication. Responsibilities include:

• Assisting veterinarians with examinations and treatments
• IV catheter placement
• Phlebotomy
• Anesthetic induction and monitoring
• Dental radiography
• Radiographic positioning
• Maintaining accurate medical records
• Educating and communicating with clients
• Supporting a collaborative, fast-paced medical team

Qualifications

Applicants should have:

• Strong communication and multitasking skills
• A positive, team-oriented attitude
• A professional work ethic
• Knowledge of veterinary medicine and terminology
• Reliable transportation
• Ability to lift more than 50 lbs.
• High school diploma or equivalent (required)
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree (preferred)

A Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) is preferred, but candidates with three or more years of animal medical care experience are encouraged to apply.
